we don't remember things
for what they were. that would
be too real... too honest. instead
we remember the softer edges, the
shadows of reality. we round off
the corners and dull the sharp
and ragged edges making it
tolerable.
a memory is not a photograph
in time, but a motion picture.
pieces moving differently each
turn we visit. people saying
things different, playing a different
role, or not even reacting to
the situation at all.
memories are captured to
help us remember, but
protects us from the harsh
and sometimes harmful
reality that its formed from.
