I love to read

and try to write

but topics are hard

to come by.


I try and pull one

out of the air but

I’m scared of how

I’ll look dumb by

writing on things.

I don’t know or

what makes no

sense to others.


You see, I like words,

even ones I don't know,

'cause they teach me

new things to say.

Pusillanimous teaches

I'm timid and 'fraid

of stepping out
onto the page.


so I won't let the word

keep me quiet and small

no matter what others may say.



I'll write what I feel

with a courage that’s real

and conquer my own word of the day.
