Tendrils of chaos
threaded through my brain
weave in and around
the thoughts I try to convey
flowing fluidly at random times
as though teasing me
like evil school kids
setting the bait,
launching me towards
an entire class of laughter.
I recognize the beauty
of the idea, pick up my pen
And suddenly feel
the strangulation and contortion,
watching as the words are yanked
back into darkness
as the mischievous
brat in my head
antagonizes any
progress I may have
thought I had in becoming a
world renowned poet.
